Hoe combineer je je werk met privé leven, werkprivé balans mannelijke CEO’s?

Die vraag wordt altijd gesteld aan vrouwen. Eindelijk werden de rollen eens omgedraaid.  door The Wall Street Journal. Ze vroegen aan 25 mannelijke CEO’ : Hoe is het met jouw werkprive balans gesteld. Dat leverde een interssant gesprek op met boeiende antwoorden.

The CEOs come from a cross-section of industries, including consumer products, health care, law and retail. The Journal says it found “that male chiefs are actively seeking a semblance of balance in their personal and professional lives. Some bosses nodded at the fact that their jobs are all-consuming, with most home and child-rearing duties borne by their spouses.”

CareerandLiveOthers “say they manage to fit family into packed schedules, but it takes work,” The Journalsays. “Many older executives said they felt conflicted about missing family life while climbing the corporate ladder, adding that they’re try to do things differently — partly to set an example for employees rising in the ranks behind them.”

Cosgrove, 75, falls into a more old-school camp.

“You don’t get to be a CEO — certainly not a successful CEO — unless you’re giving a big percentage of your time,” he tells The Journal. Cosgrove says he meets up with his wife, who spends her workweeks in San Diego at a health care startup, on weekends.

“You make your choices. You can never look back,” he says.
